It seems like that controversy doesn’t leave Arvind Kejriwal and his party Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). A party member committed suicide in Narela, outer Delhi after the molester got bail. The accused is an AAP party member who was released on bail. Her family members said she was disturbed when she heard about the accuser was released. They blamed Arvind Kejriwal and AAP. The woman activist later identified as Soni.
According to police the woman consumed poison at her home in the afternoon. She died during the treatment at LNJP hospital. A senior police officer stated the woman activist lodged a complaint against her colleague Ramesh Wadhwa who touched her inappropriately. The officer told to PTI, “The woman had filed a complaint against party colleague Ramesh Wadhwa for allegedly touching her inappropriately. A case of molestation was registered in June and the accused was arrested.”
Her family members accused the local MLA defended the molester. They said their daughter suspected that Ramesh Wadhwa was protected by an AAP lawmaker.
BJP slammed AAP that they ignored the complaint. Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay criticized Aam Aadmi Party by saying the party has established the anti-woman character. “This girl had been raising the issue of her harassment for months but AAP leaders ignored it. This incident has established anti-woman character of AAP.”He pointed the finger at the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and local MLA Sharad Chauhan.
In other side AAP rejected the allegation, rather they accused BJP. AAP representative Deepak Bajpai said, “There is no mention of any lawmaker’s name in any of the complaints. Whosoever is alleged to have harassed the girl has no connection with the party. The BJP should not stoop this low and play politics over the death of a poor girl. We also want action against the culprit.”
On Wednesday, 20th July Delhi government ordered a probe and the District Magistrate will head the probe. BJP today lodged a complaint with the National Commission of Women (NCW). Vijender Gupta, the leader of Opposition in Delhi questioned about the Delhi CM and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s silence. “This is a very serious matter and we are going to the National Commission for Women and will talk to them. Why is the Aam Aadmi Party silent on this issue?”
He alleged women members of the AAP party are not safe. He stated, “Manoj Kumar’s wife was chucked out of the house because she belongs to a poor family. Somnath Bharti’s wife had earlier complaint that he had unleashed his pet dog on her.” He told to ANI, “The Aam Aadmi Party worker was being physically abused and mentally tortured. The Aam Aadmi Party workers and leaders were provoking her for physical abuse. She registered an FIR on June 2 and her statement was recorded under Section 164 in which she named an MLA of physically abusing her. She even met the Aam Aadmi Party’s top brass and also lodged a complaint in this regard with Arvind Kejriwal.”
Before ending her life, in an interview with the news channel Aaj Tak she said she made a complaint to the Delhi CM and AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal but in a reply “The CM asked me to compromise”.
It looks like Aam Aadmi Party is against Aam Aadmi when the party’s leader could comment like this instead of protecting her and punished the accuser. If the leader is like that then it’s obvious his followers could do this type of crime again and again. Arvind Kejriwal really needs a broom to clean up his party and his thoughts.
