On Sunday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Atal Bihari Vajpayee for his birthday. Then Modi went to his house at noon. He was accompanied by BJP’s all India president Amit Shah. They were busy all day long to celebrate the birthday of India’s former Prime Minister.
But hazard was brought by Lucknow BJP leader and mayor of Aligarh, Shakuntala Bharti. She declared him dead on his birthday.
A program was arranged in ‘Dharma Jyoti Mahavidyalaya’ for 155th birthday of freedom fighter Madan Mohan Malaviya and 92nd birthday of Vajpayee. She got into the trouble during her speech in the program.
She said, “Former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji has left earth. But he will live forever in our hearts.”
Everybody was shocked to hear these words from the mayor. BJP along with other party leaders were also dissatisfied.
Basapa leader and former Aligarh district panchayat leader, Narendra Pachauri said, “Such comments cannot be taken. She should stop comment like irresponsible stupid person.”
She apologized quickly after putting herself into this trouble. She said, “I tremendously respect Vajpayeeji. It was just accidentally left out of the mouth.”
She was criticized many times in the past years with her sudden comments. She commented in February that beef was served in Aligarh Muslim University.
