Chechnya Opens World’s First Concentration Camp For Homosexuals Where The Gay Men Are Beaten To Death

We all know the horrific history of Hitler’s concentration camp. The dreadful incidents give us goosebumps. But many don’t know the world’s another concentration camp which is no less terrible than Hitler’s.

Chechnya concentration camp is for the homosexuals. The campaigners say the gay men are tortured here with electric shocks and they are beaten to death.

The Daily Mail on Monday reported that last week 100 gay men had been arrested and three killed in Chechnya.

According to Novoya Gazeta, authorities had set up such camps where they killed the homosexuals and forced them to promise to leave the republic.

Svetlana Zakharova, from the Russian LGBT Network, told the Daily Mail, “Gay people have been detained and rounded up and we are working to evacuate people from the camps and some have now left the region.”

He added, “Those who have escaped said they are detained in the same room and people are kept altogether, around 30 or 40. They are tortured with electric currents and heavily beaten, sometimes to death.”

One of them who has escaped told the Novoya Gazeta that the officials beat the prisoners to force them to reveal the name of other members of the gay community.

Another prisoner who ran away said before being imprisoned, he had been forced to pay bribes of thousand of rubles to the Chechnya police every month in order to survive.

Amnesty International in Russia’s Alexander Artemyev told the Daily Mail, “We can only call on the Russian authorities to investigate the allegations. Homosexuals in Chechyna are treated very harshly and prosecuted daily and they are afraid to talk about it.”

Sources said President Razman Kadyrov ordered the crackdown, though officially his regime denied the arrests. The regime claimed, “It is impossible to persecute those who are not in the republic”.

Kadyrov introduced Islamic rule in the Muslim-majority region and earlier he has been accused of human rights violations.
