After the 4 persons’ dead, angry mob set fire to the dumper at Badshahi road, Mongalkot, Burdwan on Friday.
Police said that the 22 year old Sheikh Saiful was bringing his sister and nephews in a bike to put them up in Burdhaman-Katwa Road adjacent Shivpur mongalkot bus. Later he decided to deliver Ismatara Bibi (30), nephews Aslam Mollah (10) and Amina Khatoon (4) in bike.

Aslam and the bike were trapped under the dumper. The dumper driver Nilu Das and his khalasi Bapi Roy pulled them in that state to almost 2 km at Noapara bus stand and tried to escape. But locals seized them in a nearby room. Later, police recovered the two.
After the incident, the residents blocked the way down with electricity poles. Dumper was set on fire. Protests were shown in mangalkot police station. A part of the residents complained that illegal sand often smuggled through the road in truck-dumper. That causes the road damage and accidents are increasing. Police have denied the allegations. Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Raj Mukherjee said, “the man was riding the bike wearing a lungi, without a helmet and carrying three persons. Negligent causes the accident. The dumper driver and khalasi were arrested.” Police also arrested the dumper owner.
