Gangster Chhota Rajan called him a ‘true patriot’ and told a trial court that he helped Indian intelligence agencies to fight against terrorists.
Chhota Rajan whose original name is Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje after 25 years of chase he was arrested last year in Indonesia. The gangster was charged in forgery, cheating and criminal conspiracy in the forged passport case along with three former passport officers.
On Wednesday he said via video conference from Delhi’s Tihar Jail that Indian intelligence agencies gave him a fake passport in the name of Mohan Kumar to combat don Dawood Ibrahim’s men. He said that after the 1993 Mumbai blast he had been fighting “anti-India forces” who were trying to damage the country.
Rajan confessed it before Special CBI Judge Vinod Kumar and stated the don’s men were trying to kill him in 2000 in Bangkok because he helped the India intelligent agencies to find out the terrorists behind 1993 blasts.
Rajan stated that 93’s Mumbai blast was a conspiracy of Dawood Ibrahim and his men. “I was greatly disturbed by the sequence of events which led to huge number of deaths of innocent persons.” He confessed that ISI, which is always working against India, instigated the blast.
He averred due to security reasons he could not disclose the identity of the persons who had helped him for the fight against terrorists.
Raja said, “Since 1993, I have been working constantly for my country and fighting those persons who want to damage our country. Unfortunately, once a fight starts there is no returning back and I have to keep my identity secret so that I can help those persons who are involved in the protection of our territory. However, I was not in the country when this passport of Mohan Kumar was prepared so there is no question of my signing on any application form.”
He claimed that in Dubai Dawood’s men snatched his original passport after they came to know that Rajan was supplying information to Indian intelligence agencies about the blast.
