So here’s comes the preview of the most awaited film of the year, Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ by Nitesh Tiwari. It is another sports drama film on wrestling again after Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’. It’s a real life story of a wrestler father, Mahavir Singh Phogat, who sacrifices everything by going against the society to make his daughters to become wrestlers. By their father’s all support his daughters Geeta Phogat wins first ever Gold medal and and Babita Kumari wins silver medal in 55kg wrestling at the 2010 Commonwealth Game.
‘Dangal’ is the hindi name of ‘wrestling’. The shooting schedule of the film commenced on 1st September 2015. They shooted at villages of Gujjarwal, Narangwal, Kila Raipur, Dango and Leel in Punjab and Haryana. Aamir Khan gained 30 kilos and weighted 98 to look alike Mahavir Phogat and from January to april 2016 he gained the eight-pack look to look alike young Mahavir Singh.
Mahavir Singh Phogat is an Indian non-professional wrestler who was nominated for the Dronacharya Award by the Wrestling Federation of India.
Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra has played the two daughters of Mahavir Singh as well child actors Zarina Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar has played younger daughters. Sakshi Tanwar brought as the wife of Mahavir Singh, Daya Kaur.
This official poster of the film was released on 4th July 2016. But within hours, a section of people on internet went berserk and began posting messages with hash tag #BoycottDangal, aiming at spreading the propaganda against the film. There’s also a website called boycottAamir.in urging fans to sign a petition against ‘Dangal’. All this because many haven’t yet forgotten Aamir’s controversy around his alleged intolerance remark.
‘Dangal’ is eagerly awaited by the fans and Bahubali 2 too is a movie that is awaited by fans since the first part of the film too had been a huge box office success. If ‘Dangal’ will release on Christmas it would witness a clash against S.S.Rajamouli’s ‘Bahubali 2’ which is yet to be released on the same day.
It is a Nitesh Tiwari film, produced by Disney Studio India, cinematography by Setu, edited by Ballu Saluja and music by Pritam Chakraborty.
