Again Pakistan violated ceasefire in RS Pura and Arnia sectors in Jammu and Kashmir. On Thursday morning Pakistan’s mortal shelling killed a BSF constable and left six others injured.
The BSF constable named Jitender Kumar from Bihar succumbed to his splinter injury during the shelling. Six civilians were injured after Pakistani troops opened fire, shelling with mortar bombs and they fired from automatic weapons.
A senior BSF official said, “The jawan, a head constable, received splinter injuries in the ceasefire violation and succumbed to his injuries.”
The troops targeted over 15 BoPs and pounded over 29 civilian hamlets along IB in RS Pura and Arnia sectors.
According to a police officer, in RS Pura and Arnia sectors, there was heavy firing and mortal shelling on BoPs and villages overnight and the ceasefire continued till the morning.
He added the injured were taken to a hospital. Pakistani troops started firing the mortal shells at 8:35 pm.
Yesterday, Assistant Sub Inspector of BSF, AK Upadhayay was injured when a shell exploded near him in RS Pura sector. He received splinter injuries in his hand.
After today’s firing the number of injured has risen to 30 since last week.
The shelling was so intense that it could be heard from 20 km away. The continued shelling was started along the international border after a group of terrorists attempted to infiltrate at Bobiya in Hiranagar sector on October 19-20 but the BSF foiled their attempt.
Authorities advised the civilians to move to the safer places and ordered to close the schools and setting up camps at safer places. The natives who are still staying at the areas have been asked not to come out from their houses during the shelling. But the farmers are concerned about their crops as it is the time to harvest.
