Shiv Sena Hindustan Leader Says Burhan Wani a “Martyr” And J&K Government “Terrorist”

Pandit Rajesh Kasari

A Mumbai based political party Shiv Sena Hindustan (SSH) on Thursday said Burhan Wani a “martyr” and called the Jammu and Kashmir government a “terrorist” asking “what the PDP-BJP coalition achieved by killing innocents”, reported Kashmiri media.

SSH National Vice president Pandit Rajesh Kasari said in a press conference that he and other party activists met with the Kashmiris to have firsthand knowledge about ground reality.

In the conference, he repeated the term “martyr” several times for Burhan Wani and the civilians who killed during the unrest. Kasari said the government should pay compensation of Rs 50 lakhs to each victim families.

He said, “On the ground, the reality is different. Khalid Muzafar Wani (Brother of slain militant commander Burhan Wani) is a martyr. His brother Burhan Wani is also a martyr. I will say that all those killed during 2016 unrest are martyrs.”

The Vice president further said both the government agencies and the people have clarified that Khalid Muzaffar was innocent. He added the government has listed his name as innocent and the government proposed four lakhs compensation to his family. “The circumstances and government agencies suggest that an innocent was killed by the state government….Burhan Wani was forced to take up arms.”

He averred a case should be lodged against the state government for killing innocent people in the valley.

Accusing the central and state government he said the reason for the anti-India sentiments in Kashmir is the government’s wrong policies.

He said, “After his martyrdom of Burhan Wani, innocent people were maimed, blinded and killed. What government got by killing innocent people? Now the Chief Minister of the State is shedding crocodile tears. The fact is that government has let loose a reign of terror here in Kashmir.”

Kasari said the state government must be made accountable for all its wrong doings and killings. He added, “The government instead of improving the situation in Kashmir has been adding fuel to worsen the situation by adopting wrong policies.”

Khalid was killed on 25th April in 2015 at Tral in Pulwama. The Army said he died in an encounter but his family claimed he was a “civilian” and killed in “custody”.
