Arvind Kejriwal’s time doesn’t really move swiftly as his party AAP going through a trouble period. On early September Mr Kejriwal sacked ex party member Sandeep Kumar for his sex video scandal. Again the party facing trouble when on Thursday the Delhi police arrested AAP MLA Somnath Bharti from Malviya Nagar for assaulting and misbehaving All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) security guards during an anti-encroachment demolition exercise. The case was lodged on 11th September.
AIIMS chief security officer R S Rawat filed the complaint against Bharti. He claimed the MLA evoked the mob to damage the fence of the hospital to gave access for trespassing inside the hospital premises with a JCB at Gautam Nagar Nallah Road.
But Mr. Bharti did not spend a day in jail unlike his other colleagues who have been arrested after registration of FIR.
Another AAP MLA and chairman of Delhi Waqf Board, Amanatullah Khan arrested on Wednesday in a molestation case which his sister-in-law lodged against him. On Thursday, a Delhi court granted him bail.
Police team arrested Bharti in the afternoon and he was produced in Hauz Khas police station.
Within hours of his arrest Saket Court granted him conditional bail. The magistrate ordered him not to influence the witnesses, whenever ordered he must join the ongoing investigation and will not commit a similar crime in future.
Though this is not the first time that Bharti has been arrested, earlier in 2015 he arrested and released on bail. Several complaints have been lodged against him.
In 2015 his wife Lipika Mitra filed a 26 page complaint of domestic violence, forgery, attempt to murder, cheating against him.
She lodged a complain of domestic abuse in 2011 with the Delhi police cell for crimes against women, though later she withdrew her complaint.
In 2014 he laid a raid on a private house in Khidki extension in New Delhi where he and his supporters forced four Ugandan women to go through medical test as a proof of narcotic test.
In spite of several complaints have been registered against him he got bail and the leader of the party didn’t sack him. But the first timer like Sandeep Kumar, Asim Ahmed Khan and Jitender Singh Tomar had to lost their jobs.
However, this is really a crisis time for AAP. Till now Delhi police booked 15 AAP MLAs on different charges and 12 have been arrested.
