The security forces almost got the most wanted Lashkar-e-Toiba militant Abu Dujana but they failed to catch him. Dujana was cornered in the encounter at the Anantnag district on Wednesday.
Yesterday three terrorists were killed in an encounter. Police suspected that Dujana was among the gunmen holed up in a house in Arwani village of Anantnag. But he managed to give them a slip.
The slip was costly as the militant is well known for masterminding terror attacks. He is the chief of the LeT group. From masterminding the Udhampur attack to organizing a hit on 8 CRPF personnel at Pampore, Dujana ensured to trouble the valley all the time.
This is the second time that Dujana managed to escape. In May, 2016 at the funeral of terrorist held at Pulwama he was giving sermons to the people. He told the people to lift up their guns and fight against the Indian army. When the security agencies realised how terrible he was Dujana managed to give them a slip.
He masterminded two major attacks in India. He attacked at Udhampur and Pampore in which 8 CRPF personnel were killed. An Intelligence Bureau dossier on Abu Dujana clearly suggests that he is a menace, armed and dangerous.
The dossier added Dujana joined the militant group Lashkar-e-Toiba when he was 17. He is operating the group out of the Pulwama region in South Kashmir. Dujana’s way of planning and execution impressed his bosses and they appointed him as a deputy to Abu Qasim.
After the death of Abu Qasim he became the leader of the LeT. His main target is the Indian army. All his attacks were directed at the armed forces as he believes the security forces are coming in the way of their so called freedom movement for Kashmir.
In the Udhampur attack, when one of the terrorists Mohammad Naved was caught, he confirmed that Abu Dujana and Qasim masterminded the attack.
Now, there is a reward of Rs. 8 lakh on Dujana’s head and a search operation has been launched to track him down.
