
22 people killed when a truck bomb went off in a heavily secured area close to the presidential palace, out of a hotel in Mogadishu, capital of Somali.
At the time of the blast on Tuesday, a security conference was in way at the hotel.
Al-Qaeda affiliated Islamist al-Shabab group claimed the responsibility behind the attack.
SYL, which is, the Somali Youth League hotel, is a well-known meeting place for government officials and has been aimed by terrorists before.
The truck tried to enter the Presidential place breaking the security. The militants of the vehicle trade fire with the security forces after being prevented. Then the truck exploded near the hotel.
Al-Shabab is fighting to expel Somalia’s UN-backed government and set up an Islamic state.
