
Today early morning, an illegal casino was busted by the police, that was running in posh South Kolkata. This is the biggest arrest made by police in recent times taking 32 people in custody.
Police arrested all of them from Imperial club on Camac Street and today, they will be produced to the Bankshall court. Police recovered Rs.6.5 lakh cash and tokens worth Rs. 55 lakh.
Vishal Garg, Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police (crime) said that after receiving information from a credible source they raided at Imperial Club at Camac Street Pantaloons building wherein gambling racket was running behind Poker game. 32 people including partners of the club, players, card dealers and manager were arrested for running gambling racket under disguise of Poker. He added, “Cash Rs 6.5 lakhs, numerous chips amounting to about 55 lakhs of print from Rs 1000 to Rs 200, incriminating transaction documents were seized from there.”
