AAP Sex Video Scandal: Arvind Kejriwal Sacks Women And Child Welfare Minister Sandeep Kumar

sandeepkumar sex video scandal

On Wednesday night, the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal sacked AAP’s SC/ST Welfare and Women & Child Welfare minister Sandeep Kumar just after the media started playing an objectionable video tape.

In a CD which was sent anonymously in different media houses showed Kumar allegedly figures with two different women. In the nine-minute video in which he was seen in an objectionable position with a woman, later he advised her to meet ‘only after 9 pm’ and never in public. The CD also contained still pictures of Kumar with another woman.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the AAP party doesn’t support any corruption, scandals; they have a ‘zero tolerance policy’.

He further said, “Ministers found taking bribes were removed immediately as soon as it was found. Action will be taken swiftly against any member irrespective of status or position.”

Interestingly, Kumar’s speech about his ‘patni-vrata’ character went viral last year. On International Women’s Day (8 March), he told the audience that almost every day before leaving the house he touched his wife’s feet, “Main roz subah inke pair choo kar ghar se nikalta hoon”.

If the video is right then obviously the minister was fooling many people both in private and in public.

The positive side is Kejriwal taken a quick action unlike BJP who first introduced Nihal Chand as a Union government minister in spite of he had a rape allegation and then protect him despite of the public outrage. And the Congress has many histories of protected deceitful politicians.

But Kejriwal took a positive stand in that matter because his party is now facing a lot of trouble. Explaining the raison d’être the Delhi CM said, “If politics is keechad (muck), we will have to get deep into it to clean it.”

In October last year, Kejriwal sacked the then food and environment minister Asim Ahmed Khan for allegedly seeking bribes.

Last year in June, Law Minister Jitendra Singh Tomar was arrested on the charge of possessing fake degrees and then he had resigned.

Reactions of the oppositions

After the sex scandal and the sacking of Kumar, BJP government hit Arvind Kejriwal and said Kejriwal must resign for picking up morally corrupt MLA in the cabinet.

Delhi BJP leader Vijender Gupta alleged, “He must be rewarded for handing over Delhi’s governance to people with corrupt values. This has never happened in any government.”

Ajay Maken, the DPCC president also attacked Kejriwal. He said the initially inducted three of the six ministers were caught for alleged “corruption, fake degree, moral turpitude.”

Congress leader Mukesk Sharma also hit Arvind Kejriwal demanding his resignation. “This government is a corrupt and Arvind Kejriwal should immediately resign from his post on moral grounds.”

Delhi has a sanctioned strength of seven ministers. This is an alarming time for AAP government as three corrupt ministers caught in less than 18 months. Possibly, Kejriwal and his party have problem judging people and that is the reason AAP losing its ground.
