The punishment for not wearing the hijab. A woman footballer from Iran got exiled from the national team.
The women’s footballer, Siba Amini, went to Switzerland. Amini couldn’t resist herself after she saw some children playing football there. She also got down playing with them. She later uploaded her playing photos in Facebook. Iran’s football federation officials became angry thereafter.
After the Islamic coup in Iran in 1979, it was mandatory to wear hijab even while playing football. She was also reprimanded for breaking the law. Amini also replied to the action against her.
She said, “I did not break the law. Our country’s law is only valid within the boundaries of the country. I am not forced to obey the rules of Iran when I come to Switzerland. I did not come here to play for my country. I was just playing with the kids. It is said from the federation that I have played with men. The federation’s officials are forgetting that the people I was playing with were not above 9-10 years old. Over activeness is being shown in the name of religion.”
