Mamata Banerjee, on Tuesday night, expressed her wrath on the decision to seize the 500 and 1000 notes. She said that it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hasty decision. She also demanded the cancellation of Modi government. Her statement, “While I’m strongly against black money, corruption, deeply concerned about common people, small traders. How they will buy essentials tomo?” She said that while it has been decided, it seems like we’re in Tughlaki regime. Mamata demanded imposing President’s rule immediately. She said, “This is a financial chaos and disaster let loose on the common people of India..”
She said with anger, this decision must be withdrawn. She added that how people will able to buy rice, wheat! They will die of hunger. As a result of this decision from center, many people can commit suicide. In her opinion, “I want to know from PM how my poorest brothers sisters, who’ve recd their week’s hard earned wage in one 500 re note will buy ata, chal, tomo?”
She demanded where the savings of the poor will go! In her view, the country will become obsolete as a result of this decision. “Heartless and ill- conceived blow on the common people and the middle class in the fake name of anti-corruption,” she said.
She also criticized banks, saying the bank should have arrangements a priori. “Rs100 notes not available in banks. Without availability in market how will people, small farmrs, all employees, labourers purchase essentials.”
She also said that political emergency was going on, but now begins the economic emergency. She said, “I’ve read about Mohammad-bin-Tughluq in history books. He (Modi) reminds me again.”
She at last said to withdraw this ‘DRACONIAN DECISION‘.
From her twitter, “Please save people from this disaster. Roads are closed, markets shut, patients not being admitted to private hospitals, millions affected. Chaos everywhere. This is like an all-India unannounced strike. Those who hoard large amounts of black money will be protected. The poorest of the poor and middle class are crying. I once more appeal to the Govt to withdraw this hasty decision. First do a plan of action and only then do proper implementation. This is a complete disaster.”
And again, “May I once again humbly request the govt. to prepare a proper action plan. The implementation of this will help the common citizens.... And the poor who need protection. I am from the grassroots. I have met people all day, heard their stories and felt their pain..Black money hoarders and the corrupt need to be punished, but why put the burden on commoners and the poor.”
So our very own didi is on fire now! Maybe she is wondering what she’ll do with Saradha’s black money.
