
Indian army gunned down two terrorists in Kashmir. Today morning an encounter started between the security forces at a residential area of Hanjan village in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.
Police recovered two AK-47 rifles with arms and ammunition from the killed militants. The two militants are believed to be from Lashkar.
The Army and the police jointly roped off the area to drive out the two terrorists. The terrorists started an open fire. After that, the both site was engaging in a heavy gunbattle early in the morning.
The search operation still going on to ensure there were no other militants. The neighboring areas continue to remain tense.
On Monday, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire twice in Poonch and Rajouri districts which killed a civilian. A police officer said that the civilian was identified as Abdul Aziz who was a resident of Basoni village in Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch. He was injured when a mortar shell landed near his house.
Also, in Sunday’s cross-border firing, a head constable of BSF succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday morning in Rajouri sector. The constable Rai Singh was injured along with three other jawans. He belonged to Jhajjar district of Haryana.
After India conducted surgical strikes on 29th September along the LoC on terrorist launch pads in PoK, there have been 286 incidents of firing and shelling along the International Border and the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir by the Pakistani army. This caused deaths of 26 people including 14 security personnel.
