A gang of robbers stopped the car of the family hitting it with a iron rod and robbed Rs. 11,000, mobiles and chains in Delhi-Kanpur national highway barely 100 meters from a police post on Friday night. The car was taken at gunpoint by five men and driven to nearby mire, where it got stuck. The woman, 35, and her daughter were pulled away, and gang raped for three hours. Police rescued them hours later, around 5.30 am.
Police arrested 18 people for questioning of the incident. The three accused were arrested on the basis of their statement and the family identified them on Sunday. The accused will be tried under the National security Act, the state’s top bureaucrat has said.
The Akhilesh Yadav government suspended the seven officers including SSP of Bulandshahr, Baibhab Kishan in the allegation of negligence on Sunday evening. DGP Javed Ahmed and State Chief secretary visited the spot after the instruction of Chief Minister Mr Yadav. Although DGP did not accepted the alleged negligence and said that Police arrived within 20 minutes after getting the news.
The Noida sector-68 family was travelling in a car to Shahjahanpur to join a relative’s Funeral on Friday night. The gang caught them in Dostpur Village, Bulandshahr.
After facing criticism Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav gave 24 hours to arrest the accused. A total 15 teams of police raided across the state in search of the accused. Babluchand Baoyariya(22), Naresh Singh(25) and Rais ahmed(28) were caught on Sunday. Rais is the local resident of Sutari Village. Bablu lives in Faridabad and Naresh is from Vatinda. Searching for the others are still going on. District magistrate has announced Rs. 50,000 for the treatment of the abused.
