24 years ago, in 1992, he had already brought the land where he will be buried. But still he is waiting for the day, Indonesia as well as world’s oldest citizen, Mbah Gotho. He is 145 now and is ready for the death. A British daily newspaper has published an article on him and he saidhis last wish, “What I want is to die and nothing else. I am absolutely ready for death.”
Gotho is the resident of Sragen, centre Java, Indonesia. The local administration said that as per his birth certificate,he was born on 31st December, 1890.
Now is he the oldest man of the world? Well! Guinness book of world record is yet to confirm the news. They have to verify the information on their own and then they’ll designate Gotho as world’s oldest man. The 122 year old French citizen, Jeanne Calment, is considered the oldest citizen of the world still now. He died on 1997.
However, the record issue is no longer bothers him. He just wants to say goodbye to earth. He wants to rest in a grave just beside his children in peace. Source from his family said that he had 10 siblings but no one except him is still alive.
Now Gotho lives with his grandchildren. One family member said that Gotho’s eyesight is too weak that he can’t even watch TV from a few years back. He spends time listening to radio programs. Last three months, up from the bed and walking has stopped. He has to feed by spoon and bath by someone of the family member. However, until a few years ago, the old man used to smoke regularly. He had tight body and he regularly walked.
For 145 years, he had watched the world changing. He had seen two world war. When asked the secret to a long life, he said: “The recipe is just patience”.
